LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

As a Red River Métis and a proud member of the Métis Nation of Ontario, I understand that the relationship with this land is not abstract — it is lived, inherited, and still being negotiated.

It is important that I acknowledge the traditional caretakers of the land on which I live, work, and raise my family. Hamilton rests within the traditional territories of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee, and Mississaugas peoples.

I believe that the Maker entrusted this land to all of us with a shared responsibility to care for it and for one another. With gratitude and humility, I honour those who have stewarded this place for millennia, and I recognize that reconciliation is not achieved through words alone, but through respect, learning, and meaningful action.
